Yahoo tests video search engine

Yahoo plans to unveil a video search engine to the serve growing appetite for multimedia entertainment online, the company confirmed Wednesday.

As previously reported, the Web portal has been developing a service that will let people search for video clips from across the Internet in much the way they do for Web pages and images. Late Wednesday, the company introduced a beta site for the product on its development page, at Next.yahoo.com. It will search for files in Windows Media, Apple’s QuickTime and Real Media. More
