New search engine aims for user control. Bill Gross is an innovator, the brains behind Overture. So when Gross says he’s got a new idea or company, people listen. Gross unveiled his newest venture Tuesday at the Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco. It’s a new search engine called Snap.
What’s different? For starters, Snap focuses on giving users control over their search results. They can sort results based on factors such as a Web site’s popularity or its “satisfaction” ranking, which is measured by analyzing how much people have surfed around a site.
