Ask Jeeves Inc. said Thursday that Clear Channel Online Music & Radio and The Motley Fool are new syndication partners of the company.The Oakland-based search engine (NASDAQ: ASKJ - News) said that the addition of these partners, along with its other syndication partners including CNET Networks Inc. Ask Jeeves has launched a beta desktop search application, capping off a very busy year in the desktop search space.
Just a year ago, consumer oriented desktop search was only available from a few small companies like Enfish, dtSearch, and x1. This year, all of the major search engines have entered or will soon enter the desktop search fray.
Following on from the launch of the US Personalised search facility, AskJeeves today has announced the launch of the UK version. Called ‘MyAskJeeves’ it will be the first major search engine in Europe to launch this technology. Read the rest of this entry »
Search engine Ask Jeeves has announced that they will be teaming up with the Red Cross to provide much needed relief funds to victims of the recent hurricanes. To assist with the relief effort, Ask has launched redcross.ask.com with ideas of donating funds gained from search queries
