SideStep Inc., a travel search engine, has elected Jim Barnett, chief executive officer and chairman of Turn Inc., as its new chairman.
SideStep’s Web site features offers from travel-related companies such as JetBlue Airways, Continental Airlines, Hyatt Corp., Best Western, National Leisure Group and Thrifty Car Rental. It’s a six-year-old private company based in Santa Clara. It has raised more than $17 million to date in funding from individual investors and private equity company Trident Capital, which has a Palo Alto office. “Jim has had outstanding experience growing and managing prominent companies in the search sector. His guidance since joining SideStep’s board of directors has been invaluable,” says Russ Lemelin, SideStep’s interim CEO. Click here to learn more.
