13 Dec 2005US internet search giant Google is to create over 600 highly skilled jobs in Ireland in the next two to three years, Enterprise and Trade Minister Micheal Martin said on Tuesday.“This decision yet again demonstrates that Ireland is by far and away the primary location for the digital media industry in Europe and second only to Silicon Valley in the US,” Martin said.A statement from Ireland’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) added that Google would recruit staff with a “very high skill level” and many of the positions would require highly qualified graduates with language skills.
